Tabs

Clicking a note in the sidebar opens it in a tab. The tab bar appears once you have two or more open.

The tab bar with four notes open and the active tab underlined in amber.

The active tab carries an amber underline. Close buttons appear on hover.

Action How
Switch Click a tab, or ⌃⇥ / ⌃⇧⇥
Reorder Drag a tab
Close The ×, or ⌘W
Close others Right-click → Close Other Tabs
Close to the right Right-click → Close Tabs to the Right
Close all The menu → Close All Tabs
Reveal the file Right-click → Reveal in Finder

⌃⇥ wraps around at the end.

Dragging the blank area of the tab bar moves the shade horizontally, the same as dragging the toolbar.

Which tabs are open, their order, and which is active all survive a restart — per workspace, so switching workspaces switches the tab set too.
