Tasks
Premium Part of the plugin platform. See Licensing.
Tasks scans your notes for checkboxes and collects them into one list, so a to-do scattered across twenty notes is still one to-do list.
plugin-tasks.png The Tasks plugin listing checkboxes gathered from across the vault, each linked to its source note.
What it finds
Section titled “What it finds”Every checkbox, in whatever form:
- [ ] In a bulleted list[ ] Standalone| Task | [ ] |Each row links back to the note and line it came from.
Ticking things off
Section titled “Ticking things off”Ticking a task here writes to the source note. There is no separate task database to fall out of sync — the note is the record.
Point it at a folder rather than the whole vault, so an archive’s finished tasks do not crowd out live ones.
Keeping it useful
Section titled “Keeping it useful”Because it aggregates everything, Tasks is only as good as your notes are tidy. A few habits help:
- Keep genuinely actionable items as checkboxes, and use bullets for notes
- Delete or archive completed work rather than leaving long ticked lists
- Scope the plugin to active folders
